There wont be too many takers for this premium processing for EB3. whats the point in getting i-140 in a jiffy if you have to wait 4+ years to file 485 after that ? The only ones it can help are those seeking 3 year extensions and those seeking to change employers.

Thanks NikNikon for the advice. I shoot everything from inside the arena so I can move between events to get the best position. Right know the strobes are out of my budget. Thanks MatsP also for your input. After your comments and talking with someone from Showcase here in Atlanta I feel much better :) about what I ended up with. This must be one of the toughest shooting environments you can come across. Do you think a bracket mounted flash would help any with the red eye? Also after 2200+ photos I am trying to learn to batch process pictures with photoshop. I am really please with how the unsharp mask helps the noise from the higher ISO. Any suggestions on batch processing tips to enhance sharpness, reduce noice and adjust levels & color are welcome. I have used photoshop for years in my printing trade but never learned it's full potential for use with photography. Also are any of you using Nikon's Picture Project? Particularly the D-lighting adjustment?

Hi Friends,
I was trying to get online tickets for my parents to come from Chennai to SFO.
..I was planning to pay from here using my credit card...but guess that might not work( see text in italics below from the airline website) , My parent have an icici debit card but that one has a limit from icici for 50,000 Rs or 75,000 Rs or so, the tickets are totally 1 lakh + so trying to figure out what might be the options....
Have the physical credit card originally used for the purchase presented by the cardholder for verification at check-in, OR on collecting the tickets, OR at the nearest Cathay Pacific Ticketing Office prior to the flight departure. The cardholder does not need to book and travel. If a transaction is successfully made with "Verified by Visa", or "MasterCard� SecureCode�", the cardholder will not be required to present the physical card used for verification.
I understand that if the cardholder fails to present the physical card originally used for booking transaction, the carrier reserves the right to -
Deny boarding, or
Collect a guarantee payment (in cash or from a new credit card).
Anyone been able to book from here for tickets starting from India ?

EscapeVelocity - I do not have a link to an official docuemnt but it is possbile subject to time availabel on your H1. - The amendment takes the same steps like a new H1 but is not subject to a CAP.

Its not too late yet....You will get H1 extension beyond 6 yrs if you meet one of the below conditions:
-- labor certification is pending for 365 days ---(This is not applicable to you)
-- I-140 is approved -- (You have a chance with this option)
Apply asap for labor certification. With the PERM process it usually takes 2-3 months to get it certified. Then you can apply for I-140 in Premium Processing and get it certified within 15 days.
Make sure you hire a good attorney and push to get the 2 stages cleared fast. Then you can file for H1 extension and get a 3 yr extension with approved I-140.
Good Luck..

My collegues have travelled via Germany with exipred visa(they had valid I94s too). and I heard that only via Germany transit visa is not necessary. But if you travel through France, transit visa is necessary.

If you have an approved I-140, you can port the PD as long as your original sponsor does not withdraw his petition. Since your company is being acquired (as opposed to you quitting on your own) it is highly unlikely that your petition will be withdrawn. So as long as you continue doing a similar job as the one for which the LC position was advertised you should be fine.

My lawyer had applied on August 25th for the LCA. We got to know on September 3rd that there was an issue with the FEIN. We emailed the required documents to DOL on September 4th.
My H1 expires on September 30th and consequently my I94 on October 10th, so i'm a bit concerened.
I will post an update when I hear something from DOL.
Just want to confirm that I have till October 10th to get my petition to USCIS. Anyone?
Also, do i have to leave the country by October 10th if I can't get the LCA issue fixed/ petition mailed?

I totally agree. There has to be some way to differentiate else we will be stuck in another retrogression with a few millions people in line.

In my humble opinion simple and easyway to distinguish ourselves from illegal immigrants is to have a premium processing for GC. What ever may be the solutions there will always be backlogs either in Labor or I140 or I485 because we are on the same track as millions of others..
From DOL perspective there is no benefit for them to process our applicatins faster than other applications..or they may simply be lacking resources to treat us as we want them to..
I don't think any high skilled professional would mind paying lilttle extra ( or significantly extra) if the process is certain and fast because once we have the GC we will not be at mercy of employers at the time of raises or need not be stuck in less paying jobs etc..
I request IV to incorporate this in their agenda.

.... you want to get entry on H1b for the time period on new h1b approval, you need to get the visa stamped from US consulate (for the same time as new H1b validity period). Otherwise you will be allowed to enter for remaining time period for old approval.
This is not correct.
One can use unexpired H-1B visa stamp along with the latest I-797 to get I-94 date as mentioned in the I-797 approval notice.

Hi,
I am in similar boat and have some additional comments/questions.
My Labor PERM filed July08, I140 Approved Aug09. PD for EB2 not available. H1B 6yr expire in sep2010.
1. If H1B is transferred to another employer before March2010, does it mean my current exployer holdmy destiny, as he can revoke my I140 and I cannot apply for 3 year renewal? I can get copy of I140 approval.
2. What exactly 'revoke I140' means? does it mean current employer calls USCIS and asks to do something to my petition?
3. Incase current employer doesnot revoke I140,Is it possible that my PD would always be july2008 even if
-a. I switch employers and they file H1B?
-b. I go outside country for 6-11months for job or study and come back and work on H1B extension of 3 yrs?
-c. I am unemployed and on H4 in between for sometime?

Generally spouses won't have this until they get the 485 receipt so they can leave it blank in the 485 application but the principle applicant should have from the 140.

Technically if you lose employment in H-1 you are out of status, although there is an informal grace period that everyone here interprets differently.

I took some photos today in poor light (please, sun...) and had to use ISO 800 to get decent shutter speeds. However, I find this isn't really useful with small birds as the noise basically covers a lot of detail. I find it difficult to on the one hand remove enough noise from the background so sharpening doesn't amplify it too much, and on the other hand leave enough noise so the feather details don't get smoothed out. So, what I did was use the magnetic lasso tool to select the bird (and inversely everything else), and used more Neat Image on the background than on the bird. I wonder if this couldn't be a trick to save some borderline images.
I'd appreciate if you'd critique these two images: do they look very unnatural to you? It does give almost a 3D effect, but I think I may have gone too far on the backgrounds.
